Apa macam?

The radio station I listen to while driving, Hitz.fm went crazy today and turned in to a MALAY station (when they usually use English - Malay is our national language, hello, MALAYsia....) as this huge joke for April Fools. (Oops. What was I reminding you for?)

It was just HILLARIOUS - in a stupid, ridiculous kind of way. For example, right now, they are playing Black Eyed Peas' "Where is the love", only now it's "Di mana cinta" sung by Rudy the DJ himself. They ain't bad ya know.

Anyway, I thought it was the funniest thing. So as soon as I got to the office, I picked up the phone and called up the radio station. Only took like 4 tries this time, and I got through. Amazing!

I told the guy who picked up the phone that they should change their station name to "Pukulan titik FM", a direct translation of "hits dot FM" that completely made no sense whatsoever. I figured that he thought it was funny enough to air and put me on hold.

Next thing I know, the DJs pick up and it's "KAMUS HELAH". *blinks*

[blank stare]

Huh?

Oh. 7.30 is usually Trixionary. Dun dun DUNNNNN....

It's like a word trivia game. Heck, why did I have to catch it when it was in MALAY?! Fortunately, it wasn't some fancy word. The word of the day was "Apa Macam" (pronounced ah-pah mah-chum) which is basically "Howzit" or "Whassup" in Malay. Ironic that I never heard it said here before and it was MARK who taught me that. He was learning a little Malay from Garret, another Malaysian (only the coolest one) at BYUH.

So, I got the word right and what do I win? A goody bag! Why couldn't I have gotten through some other time when they were giving out concert tickets or free money? Hrmph!

Sheez, talk about ungrateful, huh? I hope that I don't get a special quirked up April Fools' edition or something.

That was fun, nonetheless. I'm alot more excited about being on radio than I should be. I mean, Jared worked for radio, I've been behind the scenes like it was no big deal. And I just remembered - when I was 12, I was one of the winners in this story-telling competition and got to go to the radio station to read my story "Alec the Peacock" (that sounds totally wrong to say that now. I'm sorry, I'm just a perv) ON THE AIR during their children's program. It should be like no big deal to me right?

*BUZZ*

WRONG!

I'M STILL SO FREAKING EXCITED THAT I SAID SOMETHING SORT OF FUNNY ON THE RADIO TODAY!!!!!!!!! WOOOHOOOO!

I wonder what I need to do to get their job (or to date Jason Lo, the other DJ. OW! *fans self*). I already totally look part (just missing some headsets but I'm sure I could super impose that with Photoshop sometime):

Yay for ex-DJ ex-boyfriends!
